In a dramatic turn of events, Cynthia Mamle Morrison, the sitting Member of Parliament (Lady MP) for Agona West, has leveled serious accusations against the New Patriotic Party (NPP). She claims to have seen certain things that went on behind closed doors and will expose the NPP government if they keep attacking her.

According to her, the NPP party is conspiring with the Electoral Commission (EC) to block her from participating in the upcoming parliamentary elections.

After failing to secure her party’s nomination, Morrison is now campaigning as an independent candidate. During a candid interview, she expressed her frustration with the NPP, a party she has been associated with for years. She accused party officials of engaging in deceptive practices and internal sabotage to prevent her re-election.

Morrison alleged that the NPP has worked closely with electoral officials to ensure her name is excluded from the ballot for the December 7 elections. “They have teamed up with the Electoral Commission to ensure my name is not on the ballot, but I will not be silenced. The people of Agona West deserve to have their voices heard, and I am determined to represent them,” she said.

Having dedicated significant time to the NPP, Morrison expressed disappointment over her treatment during the primaries. She revealed that some party insiders actively undermined her efforts, which ultimately led to her losing the party’s endorsement.

Now, she claims the NPP is targeting her with legal actions intended to halt her campaign, but she remains defiant. “The injunction is just another attempt to silence me, but I will not back down,” she stated firmly.

Morrison recounted facing public attacks from NPP supporters who have allegedly spread falsehoods about her. “The NPP has been attacking me publicly, sending their supporters to insult and spread lies about me, but I know the truth. And if they push me further, I will expose what I know about this government—from the presidency all the way down,” she threatened.

She also hinted at possessing sensitive information regarding the government’s handling of COVID-19 relief funds and suggested that she could reveal damaging evidence of corruption if her campaign is further obstructed.“I was part of this administration during COVID-19, and I have seen what went on behind closed doors. If they think I’m going to sit quietly while they played these games, they are mistaken. I’ll make sure Ghanaians know exactly what’s going on with their leadership,” she warned.” she declared.

Despite the challenges posed by her former party, Cynthia Mamle Morrison is resolute in her independent candidacy and vows to bring to light what she describes as “the truth” about the NPP’s internal dealings.
