Dr. Henry Kwabena Kokofu, Senior Campaign Aide to the NPP running mate, has described Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh’s campaign style as strategic in shielding his flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, from attacks by opponents.

Dr. Kokofu believes that by having Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh engage in verbal sparring, the NDC’s focus will shift to him, allowing Dr. Bawumia to effectively communicate his message without needing to respond to the NDC.

He noted that this strategy mirrors Dr. Bawumia’s successful approach as running mate to President Akufo-Addo in the 2016 and 2020 elections.

“It’s exciting to see Dr. Opoku Prempeh’s comments sparking attention and public discussion. This strategic campaign tactic diverts the NDC’s focus from the Flagbearer, enabling him to concentrate on conveying his message to the people without distractions,” he said.

Dr. Kwabena Kokofu further expressed optimism about the positive reception of the NPP’s running mate’s message, particularly among the youth.

Comparing the youthful appeal of both the NPP and NDC tickets, he believes that the Bawumia-Opoku Prempeh ticket resonates more with the youth due to their innovative ideas and vision.

“When we compare Dr. Bawumia and Dr. Opoku Prempeh’s ticket to the NDC, it’s evident which one is more youthful. The youth have embraced them because their policies and ideas align more closely with their aspirations,” he added.
