Chelsea told they can sign ‘top striker’ for just £58m next summer

Share

Chelsea could sign one of Europe’s top strikers for less than £60m in the 2025 summer transfer window.

It no longer looks to be a problem position, with Nicolas Jackson on fire right now. In nine Premier League games for Chelsea this season, he has scored six goals.

Even so, the Blues still seem to be keeping their options open. Viktor Gyokeres and Victor Osimhen are two centre-forwards whom Chelsea are thought to be interested in.

Last month, it was reported that Chelsea watched Gyokeres’ outing against Lille in the Champions League.

Viktor Gyokeres has agreement with Sporting Lisbon

Gyokeres has a €100m (£83m) release clause in his contract, but it does not look like Chelsea will have to pay that if they want to sign the 26-year-old.

According to journalist Florian Plettenberg, Gyokeres could leave Sporting Lisbon next summer for no more than €70m (£58m) thanks to an agreement he has with the club.

Plettenberg has claimed that a transfer at the end of the season is “very likely” and that Chelsea, Manchester City, Arsenal and Liverpool are all interested in Gyokeres and know about his agreement with Sporting.

“All of the teams are informed about the transfer agreement. 18 goals and 7 assists this season yet,” the journalist said. “Top striker”.

Gyokeres’ price tag in the past has put Chelsea off, but for £58m, that could easily bring them to the table.

The Swede has been in scintillating form this season, scoring 14 goals in as many games for Sporting.

Viktor Gyokeres for £58m is a no-brainer

Looking at his numbers in the current campaign and the last one, Gyokeres is probably worth £58m in the market today.

If Chelsea are set on signing a new centre-forward, then it is a no-brainer. But at this rate, Enzo Maresca will only need a fresh face if Christopher Nkunku departs.

Jackson is doing enough to remain as the Blues’ first-choice striker, scoring again over the weekend in his side’s 2-1 win against Newcastle United.
