Real Madrid reportedly already know who their next manager is going to be after their defeat by Barcelona.
On Saturday night, Madrid were taken to the cleaners by rivals Barcelona as a brace from Robert Lewandowski and goals from Lamine Yamal and Raphinha secured a 4-0 win for Hansi Flick’s men.
On the back of the comfortable win, Barcelona are now six points clear at the top of La Liga.
After such a defeat against Madrid’s biggest rivals, manager Carlo Ancelotti will be feeling the pressure.
As reported by Fichajes, Madrid president Florentino Perez will pull the plug on Ancelotti’s contract if he fails to turn the club’s fortunes around quickly.
It has been suggested that Perez wants ex-boss Zinedine Zidane to manage the club for a third time if he decides to part ways with Ancelotti.
During Zidane’s two previous spells in charge, Madrid won a total of 11 trophies, including three Champions Leagues in a row.
However, Madrid might end up facing competition from Manchester United over Zidane as he has been heavily linked with replacing Erik ten Hag at Old Trafford.
Speaking after match, Ancelotti said: “I would like to thank the fans because they helped us and pushed us throughout the 90 minutes. We have to keep working. We can’t throw anything away just yet. The team competed for 60 minutes, but we have to forget the last 30 minutes. It was something special because we wanted to get the game back.
“The season is long, we can’t give up and we have to learn from this defeat. We learned from the last one and we can apply the same theory now. Now we have to overcome the deficit because the season is long with a lot of games. We can do better and I’m sure we will.”
The Italian continued: “We have to look at what happened.You learn a lot of things from a defeat, self-criticism is fundamental and we have to do it, but we mustn’t throw everything away. The team’s first half was good and I’m not wrong about that, I’ve been coaching for 48 years.”
