Caoimhin Kelleher has become something of a star for Liverpool this season with Alisson Becker out injured for the Reds.

The Republic of Ireland international will start between the sticks for the Reds for the next few weeks with his Brazilian counterpart out injured due to a hamstring problem, with Alisson set to miss big games against the likes of Real Madrid.

With Kelleher winning praise from Steve McManaman after his performance against RB Leipzig earlier this week, the 25-year-old goalkeeper will be ready for another big test later today when Liverpool face Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium.

And Kelleher has now shared which Liverpool teammate he sometimes asks for advice.

Kelleher reveals speaking to Alisson for Liverpool advice

Speaking to the press, Kelleher shared how he does gave conversations with Alisson when needed, with the Irish goalkeeper saying he is more focused on playing well for Liverpool and focusing on the next game for the Reds.

With Kelleher already making four appearances for Liverpool in all competitions this season, the 25-year-old is showing why he could be a starter away from Anfield with 2025 likely to be the shot-stopper’s last year on Merseyside.

And for Kelleher, having a player like Alisson to turn to for advice is nothing short of priceless, with the Brazil international regarded by many as one of the best goalkeepers in the world and a key part of Liverpool’s success in recent years.

Kelleher said when asked if he asks Alisson for advice: “I don’t need to say much as I know what to do but yes, sometimes, there are conversations. I just need to keep playing well when I have the opportunity. It is nice to get a run of games, it’s easier to prepare.”

Kelleher can put himself in the shop window covering for Alisson

With Kelleher sharing his intention to leave Liverpool next year having been blocked from leaving Anfield this summer, the 25-year-old is certainly making the most out of his situation at Anfield with Alisson out injured.

And if the Ireland international can impress between now and Alisson’s return, there’s a real chance that a club will become motivated enough to sign Kelleher at the end of this season, with the goalkeeper more than good enough to be a starter for a top side.

Indeed, Kelleher has shown he is one of the best backup goalkeepers in the Premier League this season, and a few more good performances heading into January and learning as much as possible from Alisson could lead to a move at long last in 2025.
