Residents of Duayeden Nyanawase, a farming community in the Nsawam Adoagyiri Municipality of the Eastern Region, have called on the government to provide them with much-needed social amenities.

The residents lament the deplorable state of their roads, which has severely affected business activities in the area. Farmers, they say, struggle to transport their produce to market centers due to the poor road network, leading to economic losses and hardship.

Speaking to GhanaWeb journalist Eric Obeng Boateng, Stanley Hans Ofori, Assembly Member for the Duayeden Nyanawase Electoral Area, expressed disappointment in local leaders for failing to address the community’s infrastructural challenges.

“We lack many social amenities in this community. Our roads have been in a deplorable state for the past eight years, we have no streetlights, and there is unhygienic refuse dumps scattered across the area.

“Our schools are in terrible condition, posing a danger to students, and there are no computers for learning. We lack potable drinking water, there is no mobile network, and worst of all, we have no healthcare facilities.

“Because of this, pregnant women and sick children are losing their lives,” Ofori lamented.

He emphasized his willingness to support any government initiatives aimed at improving the living conditions in Duayeden Nyanawase.

On his part, Nana Awere, Gyaasehene of Duayeden Nyanawase, also expressed deep concern over the lack of infrastructural development in the community.

He stated that Duayeden has been neglected for years, suffering from poor roads, lack of potable water, absence of healthcare facilities, and unreliable network connectivity.

He, therefore, appealed to the government and relevant authorities to urgently address the challenges faced by the community.

Some residents also voiced their frustration to GhanaWeb journalist Eric Obeng Boateng, accusing leaders of neglecting their needs. T

They, issued a strong warning that if their concerns are not addressed immediately, they will be forced to take action in their own way.
