I Don’t Fear Him; Who is He?- Subin MP

Eugene Boakye Antwi, Member of Parliament for the Subin constituency, has expressed strong concerns about the leadership of Ken Ofori-Atta, Ghana’s Finance Minister. Boakye Antwi stated that he has no personal issues with Ofori-Atta, but he’s unhappy with the minister’s handling of the economy.

According to Boakye Antwi, Ofori-Atta’s mismanagement of the economy is alarming. He noted that during their first term, Vice President Bawumia was always present when Ofori-Atta presented the budget, indicating a collaborative approach. However, in their second term, Ofori-Atta has taken a more dictatorial stance, presenting the budget without Bawumia’s input.

Boakye Antwi also accused Ofori-Atta of disrespecting other government officials and stakeholders. He claimed that Ofori-Atta refuses to meet with Bawumia unless the vice president visits the finance ministry in person. This, he believes, demonstrates Ofori-Atta’s lack of regard for others.

Furthermore, Boakye Antwi expressed frustration with the New Patriotic Party (NPP) members who, he feels, have become complacent and allow a few individuals to destroy the party. He emphasized that being an active member and MP, he will continue to speak out against any wrongdoing within the party.

Boakye Antwi criticized the party’s lack of accountability, stating that many members have become “women” and fail to speak out against injustices. He noted that even some family members of President Nana Akufo-Addo are unhappy with the current state of affairs but are unable to express their concerns publicly.

When asked about his stance on Ofori-Atta, Boakye Antwi boldly declared, “Who is Ofori-Atta? I don’t fear him.” This statement emphasize his commitment to speaking truth to power.
