10 basic schools battle for supremacy in Assin South NCCE Independence quiz

The Assin South District Directorate of the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) organized a quiz competition for ten basic schools in the Assin South District of the Central Region.

At the end of the competition, Nkran/Ngresi D/A Basic School ‘A’ emerged as the winner with 51 points, followed closely by Nkran/Ngresi D/A Basic School ‘B’ with 50 points. Darmang Catholic Basic School placed third with 34 points, while Asamankese Ahmadiyya Basic School, Assin Kyinaso D/A Basic School, and Atobiase/Kyekyewere D/A Basic School tied for fourth place with 29 points each.

Asamankese D/A Basic School secured the seventh position with 23 points, followed by Domeabra D/A Basic School in eighth place with 22 points. Achiase Basic School ranked ninth with 16 points, while Otabilkrom D/A Basic School finished in tenth place with 12 points.

George Briku, the District Director of NCCE, stated that the quiz assessed the students’ knowledge and understanding of Ghana’s history, constitution, governance, and civil rights.

He emphasized the importance of equipping the younger generation with the necessary knowledge, skills, and values to become responsible citizens.

Briku wished the contestants well and encouraged them to remain knowledgeable about Ghana’s rich history to serve the country effectively.

The NCCE Director presented the participants with a copy of the 1992 Constitution, certificates of participation, storybooks, and other educational materials.
