Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia donated GH¢200,000 to the affected traders
Former Vice President and NPP flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, visited the victims of last Friday’s devastating fire at the Adum Blue Light market today, offering immediate financial and material support.
During his visit to the affected site, Dr. Bawumia announced a donation of 2 billion old Ghana cedis, equivalent to GH¢200,000 currently, and thousands of bags of cement to aid in rebuilding efforts.
Speaking to the media, Dr. Bawumia expressed deep concern over the incident and commiserated with the affected traders, many of whom lost their livelihoods in the blaze.
He was accompanied by several Ashanti Regional NPP executives during his tour of the damaged area.
Dr. Bawumia emphasized that this initial contribution would not be his final act of support, assuring the victims of a future return visit and continuous support.
He also expressed his gratitude to the Ghana Fire Service for their swift response in containing the fire.
Dr. Bawumia concluded his visit by urging both individuals and fellow traders to contribute to the ongoing relief efforts for the victims.
