Mohamed Salah’s current deal at Liverpool expires next summer and he is yet to put pen to paper on an extension.

The Egyptian has been in fine form under new manager Arne Slot and has already notched up seven goals and assists apiece across 12 appearances in all competitions.

Salah said he’s not thinking about his contract earlier this season and his form hasn’t dipped in the slightest despite all the talk about his future.

But if reports are to be believed, a club from the Saudi Pro League have made him their transfer priority.

Salah has always had keen admirers in Saudi, with SPL Sporting Director Michael Emenalo confirming that he was unable to convince the Egyptian to move to the Middle East last year.

However, Give Me Sport state that Saudi clubs haven’t thrown in the towel yet as the 32-year-old has emerged as a priority target for Al-Hilal boss Jorge Jesus.

Salah has yet to green-light the move and he may extend his contract with Liverpool in the coming months.

The report also states that Al-Hilal’s pursuit won’t be deterred even if he signs an extension at Anfield and are willing to pay a ‘healthy fee’ to sign him in the future.

For Salah, however, leaving on a free transfer would be more beneficial as he’d command a huge signing-on fee, so it remains to be seen how the situation transpires.

Salah’s stats at Liverpool

Simply put, Salah is one of the greatest players in Liverpool’s decorated history, and losing him for free would be catastrophic.

He hasn’t played less than 32 Premier League games a season or scored fewer than 18 league goals a season, so replacing him is a near-impossible task for the Reds.

Mohamed Salah stats Apps Goals Mins
24/25 8 5 696′
23/24 32 18 2.536′
22/23 38 19 3.297′
21/22 35 23 2.762′
20/21 37 22 3.082′
19/20 34 19 2.888′
18/19 38 22 3.261′
17/18 36 32 2.920′

Liverpool usually don’t hand out huge contracts to players on the wrong side of 30, but they must make an exception for Salah as he is showing no signs of slowing down.
