A 28-year-old head porter, Kennedy Dadzie, has been granted GHC50,000.00 bail with two sureties by the Amasaman Circuit Court for allegedly stabbing a driver.

The Court, presided over by Enid Marful-Sau, ordered that Dadzie’s sureties provide valid national identity cards to the Court’s Registry.

Dadzie denied stabbing Kofi Owusu in the arm and was asked to reappear before the court on April 22, 2025.

Police Chief Inspector Salifu Nashiru stated that both the complainant, Owusu, a driver, and Dadzie, a head porter, reside in Treba.

He narrated that in July 2024, Mr. Owusu realized his Samsung A13 phone was missing.

Upon questioning his wife, she allegedly mentioned seeing Dadzie smoking behind their building at midnight.

Owusu reportedly warned Dadzie to stay away from the back of his house, which angered Dadzie, leading to threats.

The Court was informed that on August 5, 2024, while Owusu and one Kwame were at a park in Treba, Dadzie allegedly passed by and threatened them.

A heated argument followed, during which Dadzie reportedly pulled a jackknife and attempted to stab Kwame.

Owusu chased him with a stick, causing Dadzie to flee.

Shortly after, while Owusu was heading home, Dadzie allegedly emerged and stabbed him in the left arm before escaping.

Chief Inspector Nashiru disclosed that Dadzie was arrested on March 10, 2025, following a tip-off.

During interrogation, he reportedly admitted to the offence and was subsequently arraigned.
