England’s stars have arrived at St George’s Park as Thomas Tuchel brings his squad together for the first time.

The German coach selected a 26-man squad heading into his first fixtures in charge of the Three Lions. Fixtures against Albania and Latvia await and Tuchel will soon lead training for a group that prompted some surprise.

The addition of Morgan Gibbs-White has already been made after he initially missed the cut, with Cole Palmer a possibility to make way. The Chelsea star missed the Blues’ defeat to Arsenal at the weekend.

So fresh faces, experienced heads and returning stars all joined together on Monday. Mirror Football takes a look a what could be spotted as they did.

Reunited

Reece James was a slight surprise to be named in Tuchel’s squad as he continues to attempt to maintain his fitness for an extended period. But few have as intimate a knowledge of what the Chelsea captain is capable of as the former boss of the west London side.

Tuchel relied upon James’ talents on the way to Champions League glory just months after arriving at Stamford Bridge, as the full-back established himself as one of the world’s best in the position. That knowledge and his versatility perhaps made it an easy pick for Tuchel, and his assistant coach Anthony Barry, who spent even longer than the German at Chelsea, was very happy to see his former colleague.

Slightly more awkwardly, Tuchel was spotted with Tino Livramento. The Newcastle full-back departed Chelsea in the first transfer window following the England boss’ arrival, as he went in search of first team opportunities at Southampton.

Jordan Henderson cut a very happy figure upon his return to St George’s Park. The Ajax midfielder has not been selected for England duties since November 2023.

The former Liverpool star may already be 34 but he had a smile as big as someone joining the group for the first time on Monday. The veteran was embraced by the likes of Harry Kane, Marcus Rashford, Jude Bellingham and Declan Rice as he made his return

Henderson was not alone in making a comeback, as Ras hford makes a swift return to international action following his loan to Aston Villa. The Manchester United loanee beat new team-mate Ollie Watkins for a spot, despite being predominantly used from the bench by Unai Emery.

The forward has endured a difficult season but delivered a firm thumbs as he made his way into the building, suitcase in hand. The 27-year-old enjoyed a warm embrace with Henderson, and will hope to leave a positive impression on Tuchel.

Bright-eyed and bushy-tailed

Despite scoring at Wembley to spark his hometown club to Carabao Cup glory little under 24 hours ago, Dan Burn was showing no ill-effects as he arrived for his first England call-up. The Blyth-born defender had a quick turnaround from celebrating with fans and family on Sunday night at BOXPARK and displaying his trademark dance moves, to arriving in Staffordshire.

Dominic Solanke was among the first to greet Burn, as the former Brighton defender quickly changed from casual clothing to his England attire. The 32-year-old was soon sharing laughs with Tuchel and Henderson, and spending time with Kane as his week continues in a positive fashion.

Another new face arrived in Arsenal’s Myles Lewis-Skelly. The teenage star has made his name at left-back for the Gunners this term and has been presented with an early opportunity to show his talents on the international stage.

Tuchel took the time to share an early conversation with the youngster, placing his hands on the ace’s shoulders as he did. Morgan Rodgers and Jude Bellingham were among those also offering a warm welcome.
