The GFA supremo believes the African powerhouse now stands a better chance of making a great impact in the decision-making process on the game over its affairs on the continent after being elected to serve on a 24-member committee of the continent’s football governing body

Ghana Football Association (GFA) president Kurt Okraku has intimated that, with his election to the Confederation of African Football (CAF) Executive Committee, Ghana now occupies a strategic space at the highest level of governance on the African continent when it comes to the affairs of the football game in the country.

Right after being elected unopposed for a four-year term from 2025 to 2029, the Ghana FA commander-in-chief feels the position would obviously help the development of football in the west African nation as it has now offered the needed voice which is set to be very loud in a decision-making process.

”I think that Ghana today occupies a strategic space at the highest level of governance on the African continent,” the Dreams FC chief told Sporty FM.

He continued: ”It’s a strategic space that will obviously help the development of football. At least, we’ve a voice even though once you’re elected you represent Africa, but we do have a voice and that voice will be very loud.”

He becomes the sixth Ghanaian to serve on the CAF Executive Committee after Ohene Djan, Kobina Hagan, Nana Fredua Mensah, Samuel Okyere, and Kwesi Nyantakyi.
