A presenter at NET2 TV, Albert Asomani, has questioned why the New Patriotic Party (NPP) allegedly sidelined the station from a recent press conference despite its well-known affiliation with the party.
“Speaking on air, Asomani stated that it is an undeniable fact that the Ken City Media, including NET2 TV and Oman FM serve as a mouthpiece fpr the NPP, a reality they do not need the Minority Leader to confirm. He expressed surprise that the party would organise a press conference but fail to invite a media station widely perceived as its own.
“We don’t need the Minority Leader to tell us we are the mouthpiece of the NPP because its an undeniable fact. How can you organise a press conference and sideline a media station you claim is the party’s mouthpiece? He questioned.
Asomani further explained that working at Ken City Media automatically brans an NPP-aligned. He pointed out that Ken City, owned by NPP stalwart Kennedy Agyapong, has been dedicated to supporting the party, even to the extent of decorating its studios in NPP colours.
“When you work at Ken City Media, everyone brands you NPP. Kennedy Agyapong himself is a good party member, that is why he donated Ken City to project the message of the NPP. He has even painted the entire studio in the colours of NPP so we don’t need the minority leader to tell us that we are NPP mouthpiece.”
He emphasized that NET2 and Oman FM would not discuss any issues from the press conference since they were not invited.
“If they wanted us to discuss matters from the press conference, they would have invited us. But for refusing to invite us, we won’t also discuss anything about the press conference on NET2 TV or Oman FM.” He said.
