Member of Parliament for Assin North in the Central region, James Gyakye Quayson has reflected on the struggle he has gone through in the bid to serve his people as a lawmaker.He was faced with an injunction challenging his eligibility to hold office as an MP for allegedly holding a dual citizenship of Canada and Ghana.Eventually, the Supreme Court on May 17, 2023 described as unconstitutional his election and declared the Assin north seat vacant.It was carried in a unanimous decision by a seven-member panel of the Supreme Court which ordered Parliament to expunge Gyakye Quayson’s name as MP.Mr.
