Nhyiaeso MP, Stephen Amoah, has raised concerns about his safety following a confrontation with political activist Ralph St Williams at Ghana’s Parliament.

The incident, which took place on March 11, 2025, has since gained attention on social media.

According to reports, Ralph, who is known for his role in the Fix The Country Movement, confronted the MP at the entrance of Parliament just before the 2025 budget reading.

With his phone camera recording, Ralph questioned Amoah about the poor state of infrastructure in Nhyiaeso.

“You have been in office for eight years, yet the roads are in bad shape.

Streetlights don’t work. What have you been doing for the people?” Ralph asked as he followed the MP.

Stephen Amoah, seemingly uncomfortable with the situation, responded by telling Ralph to stop.

He then turned to a police officer nearby and said, “He is attacking me.”

This led to Ralph’s arrest, with reports indicating that the MP made an official complaint.

In a video shared on social media, Ralph was seen sitting inside a vehicle, believed to be a police car, explaining his side of the story.

“I only asked him questions about what he has done for his people. How is that an attack? This is unfair,” Ralph stated.

The incident has sparked a debate among Ghanaians.

Some believe Ralph was within his rights to demand accountability from the MP, while others argue that his approach was too aggressive.

“I support what Ralph did. Politicians must be held accountable,” one social media user wrote.

However, another person commented, “This is not the right way to engage an MP. There are better ways to communicate concerns.”

Despite the mixed reactions, one thing is clear: the confrontation has brought attention to the issues affecting Nhyiaeso.

Many are now questioning what the government is doing to address poor infrastructure in the area.

Meanwhile, MP Stephen Amoah has not made any further public statements, but his words during the incident, “I think I am not safe,” suggest that he felt threatened by the activist’s actions.
