According to reports from GhanaWeb, Frank Kwaku Appiah, widely recognized as Appiah Stadium, is a Kumasi-based political activist and a devoted supporter of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
He has expressed immense admiration for former President John Dramani Mahama, emphasizing that Mahama holds a very special place in his life due to the kindness and support he has extended to him.
Appiah Stadium noted that he has had personal interactions with various prominent Ghanaian leaders, including former President John Agyekum Kufuor, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, and former Trade and Industry Minister Alan Kyerematen.
Despite these connections, he firmly believes that Mahama is exceptional and stands above the rest.
During an interview on March 11, 2025, Appiah Stadium acknowledged that President Akufo-Addo had been generous to him in the past, occasionally providing him with financial assistance.
However, he maintained that Mahama remains his favorite leader, largely because of the significant help he has personally received from him.
He cited a particularly difficult period in his life when Mahama stepped in to provide crucial support.
Mahama covered the expenses for his wife’s surgery abroad, an act of kindness that Appiah Stadium says he will never forget.
Additionally, Appiah Stadium commented on Akufo-Addo’s personality, describing him as someone who lacks patience and tends to lose his temper easily.
Reflecting on his experiences with various leaders, he reiterated that while he has worked with Kufuor, Akufo-Addo, and Alan Kyerematen, none have treated him as well as Mahama.
He further remarked that although Akufo-Addo was generous with money during his tenure at the Foreign Affairs Ministry, his short temper often overshadowed his generosity.
He stated: “When it comes to sharing money, Akufo-Addo, back when he was at the Foreign Affairs Ministry, could give you dollars without even counting them… but he doesn’t have patience; small issues make him angry.”
