Black Stars coach Otto Addo is expected to announce his squad for the 2026 World Cup qualifying games against Chad and Madagascar this week.

For the first time this year, the four-time African champions will regroup for Matchday five and six of the qualifiers later this month after failing to qualify for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament.

Having been criticized for their poor performances during the AFCON qualifiers, the Black Stars are determined to change the narrative as they aim to secure their fifth qualification for the Mundial, which will be staged in the USA, Canada, and Mexico in 2026.

As a result, Otto Addo is expected to announce a strong squad for the upcoming games. The squad list has already been submitted to the Executive Council of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) for review.

Meanwhile, the likes of Alidu Seidu, Abdul Fatawu Issahaku, Abdul Mumin, and Daniel Kofi Kyereh, among other players, are expected to miss the games due to various injuries.

However, Andre Ayew, who has been out of the team since the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament in Ivory Coast, is rumored to be making a return.

Jordan Ayew is expected to lead the team as captain for the games.

Ghana, who sit second in Group I, will take on Chad at the Accra Sports Stadium on Friday, March 22, at 19:00 GMT. They will then travel to Morocco for a clash against Madagascar at the Grand Stade d’Al Hoceima on Monday, March 25.
