Xavi to the EPL? Talks underway with an unnamed club

According to reports from Relevo, an unnamed Premier League club is considering a summer move for Xavi. While no official negotiations have been confirmed, discussions between his representatives and the club have reportedly taken place, with further developments expected as the season progresses.

“Next year, Xavi Hernandez wants to return to the dugout, and I can tell you that there is already a club thinking about him: it is English, from the Premier League. In the coming weeks, if negotiations progress, I will give you more clues,” the report stated.

Could Manchester United be his next club?

One of the clubs previously linked with Xavi is Manchester United. The 45-year-old is reportedly open to taking charge at Old Trafford if current manager Ruben Amorim departs. United’s managerial situation remains uncertain due to their consistent failures, and should a vacancy arise, Xavi could be among the candidates considered.

Despite his tenure at Barcelona ending on a sour note, Xavi showcased his managerial capabilities during his time at Camp Nou. He guided the Spanish giants to the La Liga title in the 2022-23 season and also secured the Spanish Super Cup with a 3-1 victory over arch-rivals Real Madrid in Saudi Arabia. During his time at the club, Barcelona played 142 matches of which they won 89 and lost 29, drawing the remaining 24 games.

Before managing Barcelona, Xavi had a successful spell at Qatari club Al Sadd, where he implemented an attractive style of play and won seven trophies between 2019 and 2021. During his 102 games in charge, Xavi won 67 matches, drew 17 and lost 18. He also helped the side reach the AFC Champions League semi-finals but lost to Saudi club Al Hilal.
