The Vice President of Imani Africa, Kofi Bentil, has wondered why some political leaders campaign with the promise of having solutions to the country’s problems only to assume office and seek output on how to resolve them.

In a discussion on NewsFile on March 8, 2025, he emphasised that leaders should assume office with well-strucured plans.

“You stand for election to lead this country, and you tell us you know the problems and you have ideas about how to solve it. I have a problem when now, when you get into office, you call everybody and say, how do we solve this?

“Now the negative aspect of it, is that you don’t have an idea. But you’re not going to tell us and basically, you’re wasting our time. I would have thought that a better way, a more compressed way, a more focused discussion would have been something like, these are the problems we have identified, these are the solutions”, he noted.

His comments follow the recent National Economic Dialogue and the National Education forum held by the government to gather solutions to the country’s economic and educational challenges.
