The clean-up exercise aims to promote cleanliness and beauty in the Volta Region
The Volta Regional Coordinating Council (VRCC) is gearing up to celebrate Ghana’s 68th Independence Day in a unique way. As part of the celebrations, the VRCC has organized a clean-up exercise at the Ho Airport, scheduled to take place on Thursday, March 6, 2025.
The clean-up exercise, themed “Celebrate Ghana’s Independence with Action”, aims to promote cleanliness and beauty in the Volta Region. The event is part of the regional celebrations, while the national commemoration will take place at the Jubilee House.
According to sources within the VRCC, several locations in the capital city were considered for the clean-up exercise, including the Ho Regional Market Center and the Main Lorry Station. However, due to the market day coinciding with the event, the organizers decided to focus on clearing the bushy areas of the Ho Airport.
The clean-up exercise is not the only development underway at the Ho Airport. The Agbognomefia of the Asogli State, Togbe Afede XIV, has expressed optimism that the first phase of the Aviation Academy project will be completed by the end of 2025.
The Aviation Academy project, which includes a Pilot Training School, is expected to have a significant economic impact on the region. The Volta Regional Minister emphasized the government’s commitment to ensuring the project’s completion.
The VRCC’s clean-up initiative and the Aviation Academy project demonstrate the region’s efforts to promote development and cleanliness. These initiatives align with the VRCC’s mission to facilitate the overall development of the Volta Region.
The participants and the General public are expected to depart from the VRCC to the Ho Airport with strong supervision by the VRCC.
