Travis Scott took the segment too far when he punched WWE champion Cody Rhodes in the head for real during the iconic moment when John Cena finally turned heel

WWE champion Cody Rhodes was legitimately injured by rapper Travis Scott during one of the most historic moments in wrestling history. The WWE fanbase – and the world – is still reeling from the iconic John Cena turning heel (bad) during the closing moments of the Elimination Chamber show on Saturday night.
Cena aligned with Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson in a move dubbed more historic in WWE history than when Hulk Hogan went to the dark side in 1996.
He did so by inflicting serious pain on Cody Rhodes . . . with the assistance of rapper Travis Scott. For some reason, Scott was in the ring wafting sage around, and decide to get involved in the beatdown.

And while holding Cody’s head down, he smacked him across the side of the face in what looked like a “shoot” moment. For the unaware, that means when something happens for real rather than being a worked or scripted punch.
And it has now been confirmed that Rhodes – who was seen bleeding from above his eye shortly after – was left with serious injuries. According to wrestling historian Dave Meltzer: “Cody got hurt…I’m pretty sure it was Travis Scott that did it…I heard he had a busted eardrum and a black eye.”

The Daily Star has reached out to WWE for a comment on the matter.
Fans have been raging about the incident online, as one said: “Nobody told Travis Scott that wrestling isn’t real – bro punched tf outta Cody Rhodes!”
And another said: “Craziest part of the John Cena heel turn was obviously Travis Scott standing in the corner the whole time smoking a blunt and then absolutely wrecking Cody Rhodes’ face.”
A third added: “The Rock & Cena destroying today’s #1 baby face of WWE Cody Rhodes was epic. The only criticism I have is why Travis Scott was randomly there.”
