Manchester City have taken another step towards ensuring that a troubling 2024/25 campaign isn’t set to finish trophyless.
The Citizens were in FA Cup fifth-round action at the weekend as they ran out 3-1 winners over Plymouth Argyle at the Etihad Stadium.
Manchester City trailed to Maksym Talovierov’s 38th-minute opener but were level in first-half injury time as Nico O’Reilly struck.
O’Reilly then put Pep Guardiola’s side in front on 76 minutes before Kevin De Bruyne made sure of City’s victory in the 90th minute.
City are now the last traditional big club left in the FA Cup, with the likes of Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United all out.
Former City goalkeeper David Seaman has now predicted who he fancies to win the FA Cup.

David Seaman backs Manchester City to win FA Cup
The latest episode of the Seaman Says podcast saw Seaman, Faye Carruthers and producer Adam discuss the state of play around the FA Cup.
Producer Adam predicted Bournemouth to win the competition, while Carruthers went with Brighton.
Meanwhile, Seaman went with his former employers, backing City to go all the way in the tournament.
“I’m going with my old club… Ci-ty,” Seaman said as he smiled, knowing the other two wouldn’t like his opinion.
Carruthers said: “The thing is, I like all of the teams in here – take out Man City.
“Sorry Man City fans, it’s nothing against you personally but, you know…”
Producer Adam then said: “You’ve won enough!”
Who Manchester City will face in the FA Cup quarter-finals
City have been drawn away at Bournemouth in the FA Cup quarter-finals, with the tie set to take place across the weekend of 29/30 March.
City’s record against the Cherries is 22 games played, 19 wins, two draws and one loss.
City and Bournemouth have already faced off once this season, the Cherries running out 2-1 winners at the Vitality Stadium in their Premier League clash in November.
The two teams are also set to meet at the Etihad Stadium in the penultimate Premier League fixture of the season on 18 May.
It will be Man City’s first ever meeting with Bournemouth in the FA Cup.
