The Member of Parliament, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, left the host of Good Morning Ghana, Annie Afua Ampofo, in tears during a live broadcast. This emotional moment occurred after Ablakwa shared details of his recent exposé. He explained that, in light of the “state capture of land and buildings,” the Judicial Service has taken the Lands Commission and the Attorney General to court. The shocking aspect of this revelation is that the Judicial Service itself constitutes the court. Essentially, this means the court is suing itself.
This revelation caused the host to laugh uncontrollably to the point of tears.
“The plaintiff is the Judicial Service of Ghana. The defendants are the Lands Commission, Prince Oil Company, and the Attorney General. The Judicial Service of Ghana has gone to court. Can you believe it? This is the republic we are in now,” Ablakwa stated.
“Annie, don’t do that. I’m trying to control myself. The court has gone to court. Someone reminded me that when I took Jake Obetsebi-Lamptey to court, the Judicial Service was tough on me at the time. They didn’t realise that after dealing with me, they would come for his bungalow,” Ablakwa explained.
