Kuami Eugene – Joyce Blessing Didn’t Promote ‘Victory’ Enough

Ghanaian musician Kuami Eugene recently opened up about the promotion of Joyce Blessing’s song “Victory” during an interview with Andy Dosty on Hitz FM’s Daybreak Hitz. He shared his belief that the gospel musician didn’t put in as much effort as she could have to push the song further.

Kuami Eugene compared Joyce Blessing’s approach to that of Empress Gifty, who has been heavily promoting her own track, “Watch Me.” He noted, “I think Joyce Blessing didn’t do as much as Empress Gifty is doing [with ‘Watch Me’]. I am just being real. I love Auntie Joyce so much, but I don’t think she did justice to the song like Empress is doing. Empress has taken it personal. And from a writer’s perspective, there is a lot of respect attached to it.”

According to Kuami Eugene, Joyce Blessing’s initial efforts when “Victory” was released were strong, but she seemed to ease off after December, despite the song going viral. He added, “She had a hit song, so that’s it for her.”

On the other hand, Kuami Eugene praised Empress Gifty for her continued commitment to promoting her song. “It’s been almost a month and it doesn’t look like Empress Gifty is stopping anytime soon. And it’s looking very good. She’s been everywhere; she’s been to Kumasi, Eastern Region. I think it is something we should really learn,” he explained.

Kuami Eugene, who not only wrote and composed “Victory” but also served as the creative director for the music video, has earned widespread acclaim for his songwriting skills. In addition to his own music, he has written songs for other artists like MzVee, Kwame Yogot, and Empress Gifty.
