Minister for Roads and Highways Kwame Governs Agbodza has disclosed Ghana is not currently ready to enter into a partnership with the private sector for the construction of Roads.

According to him, the strength of the country’s economy does not make it prudent for Public-Private Partnership (PPP) arrangements.

The Adaklu MP disclosed projects such as the expansion of the Tema Motorway and the Boankra Inland Port Projects approved by Parliament as Public Private Partnerships now have only the government funding them.

Contributing to a statement on PPP by MP for Ofoase Ayirebi, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, Agbodza disclosed that there is so much interest from the private sector in partnering with the government in executing projects.

He, however, indicated that ways to recover investments are missing from the PPP conversation.

The Ofoase-Ayirebi MP and former Works and Housing Minister Kojo Oppong Nkrumah however insists the best way to get projects executed in the country given dwindling funds of the state is through partnership with the private sector.
