‘See the Actions IGP Dampare Has Taken Against Mahama in the Investigation

In response to a directive from the President, Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Dr. George Akuffo Dampare has quickly acted to investigate deaths linked to the 2020 and 2024 general elections. He formed a specialized investigative team within the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) Headquarters, led by Chief Superintendent Joseph Nanegbe and made up of skilled officers from the Ghana Police Service. Dr. Dampare has set a clear timeline for the team to complete their investigation and submit a comprehensive report, assuring the President that the team will have full access to necessary resources for a thorough and transparent inquiry.
Since his appointment in 2021, the IGP has worked to enhance the police force’s investigative capabilities, including establishing the Cold Case Unit at the CID Headquarters to address unsolved criminal cases. These efforts highlight Dr. Dampare’s commitment to justice, particularly in resolving issues related to election-related violence.
The investigation aims to bring closure to the victims’ families and demonstrate the government’s commitment to tackling such serious matters.
