Tuesday’s UEFA Champions League action delivered an array of dramatic moments, record-breaking performances, and table-shifting results. The night saw Jamie Bynoe-Gittens make history, Tijjani Reijnders’ brace spark a comeback, and several teams continue their strong starts to the league phase.

Tuesdays results

According to BBC Sport, Borussia Dortmund’s young star, Jamie Bynoe-Gittens, etched his name into the history books by becoming the youngest Englishman to score against Real Madrid in the Champions League at 20 years and 75 days, surpassing Alan Smith’s previous record (20 years, 129 days) set for Leeds United in 2001. His first-half goal, alongside a strike from Donyell Malen, put Dortmund in a comfortable 2-0 lead at the break.

However, Real Madrid demonstrated their resilience with a stunning second-half comeback, spearheaded by Vinícius Júnior’s hat-trick, to secure a 5-2 victory. This result left Real Madrid at 9th on the table while Dortmund remained 5th.

However, AC Milan overcame a rocky start against Club Brugge, who had been reduced to 10 men early in the second half. Tijjani Reijnders netted two goals in the final 45 minutes to steer Milan to a much-needed 3-1 win, propelling them to 21st position.

Arsenal continued their perfect start to the league phase with a 1-0 triumph over Shakhtar Donetsk, courtesy of an own goal by goalkeeper Dmytro Riznyk, who deflected Gabriel Martinelli’s effort into his own net.

Monaco’s impressive run continued, with Takumi Minamino leading the charge in a 5-1 rout of Red Star Belgrade. Minamino’s two goals helped maintain Monaco’s top position, while Red Star remained at the bottom, struggling to secure their first point.

Meanwhile, Paris Saint-Germain’s inconsistent form persisted as they were held to a frustrating 1-1 draw by PSV Eindhoven in Group E. PSG’s wastefulness in front of goal, coupled with a last-minute penalty decision being overturned, left them in 17th.

Stuttgart capped off the evening’s drama with a stoppage-time winner to edge 10-man Juventus, securing their 4th point of the campaign and shaking up the standings.

With Tuesday’s results, the league phase is shaping up to be fiercely competitive, with teams jostling for the top spots as the group stage approaches its midpoint.
