Liverpool fans are all in agreement over Federico Chiesa on the back of the club’s open training ahead of this week’s clash with RB Leipzig.

On Wednesday night, Liverpool will resume their Champions League campaign with a tough away tie at the Red Bull Arena against Bundesliga side Leipzig.

So far, the Reds have won both of their matches in Europe’s premier club competition, against AC Milan and Bologna.

However, Marco Rose’s side could be Liverpool’s toughest test so far as they currently sit second in the Bundesliga table having collected the same amount of points as Bayern Munich.

Ahead of the match, Liverpool conducted an open training session but there was no sign of summer signing Chiesa, who has missed the last few matches due to an apparent injury.

Reacting on social media, Liverpool fans have been making the same point, one said: “We’re starting to see why Chiesa cost us less than a hospo ticket in the Annie Road.”

Another tweeted: “Chiesa cost little to nothing in today’s market & it already feels like we’ve wasted money. I’ve never heard of a playing being out for nearly a month with ‘just a knock’.”

A third fan added: “No wonder he cost peanuts.”

Someone else wrote: “It all makes sense why Chiesa cost only 8mil the bloke is never fit.”

A fifth commented: “Haha no wonder Juventus let us grab Chiesa for 13m.”

Another fan said: “Chiesa is gonna be the new Artur Melo.”

Ahead of what will be a crucial period for the club, Liverpool captain Virgil van Dijk said: “It’s a very tough run of games and also what makes it difficult is we travel a lot, it’s about staying fit, keeping the rhythm, I’m looking forward to it.

“This is what you want to do. You want to play on the highest level against the best teams and perform and show what you can do. So let’s go for it. I want to be successful. I want to win trophies in every competition we’re in.”
