Kofi Bentil, Vice President, IMANI-Africa
Vice President of policy think tank, IMANI-Africa, Kofi Bentil, has called on the government to discontinue the practice of creating boards for state agencies if party faithfuls will be rewarded with CEO positions.
He believes that these boards are pointless and no not warrant or influence decision-making in the various State Owned Enterprises.
His comments come on the back of a court writ that stated the benefits of former SIC MD, Hollister Duah-Yentumi.
Kofi Bentil in a post shared on social media stressed that, appointments should be made based on the viability and competence of the appointee and not given as reward.
“If government will simply use CEO positions to reward faithfuls, and make all important decisions, then boards of SOEs are pointless and must be disbanded. We are either serious about making State Owned Enterprises variable or we are not,” his post read.
