Lawyer Maurice Ampaw made a sudden U-turn over his earlier comment that he would relocate to Togo if His Excellency John Dramani Mahama should win the 2024 elections. He made those comments known during a live broadcast on Angel TV before the 2024 elections.
In a recent interview a few hours ago, Lawyer Maurice made it clear to the general public that he is not going to stay in Togo despite the victory of Mahama.
” I will not go to Togo because Ghana is better than Togo. I have not traveled for the past 51 years outside Ghana and I don’t even have a passport. I only made those comments to show my support and love for the New Patriotic Party NPP. I want Ghanaians to understand that we have political talks and there is nothing that we can do to change it. I am sorry for whatever I said wrongly. I cannot deny that I was on the side of His Excellency Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and NPP during the elections”. – Lawyer Ampaw stated
John Dramani Mahama won the 2012 elections with the late Vice President His Excellency Amissah Arthur. John Dramani Mahama lost the 2016 elections to the sitting president his Excellency Nana Addo Dankwah Akuffo Addo. In 2020, His Excellency the former President of Ghana John Dramani Mahama was defeated for the second time by His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwah Akuffo Addo. Now in 2025, John Dramani Mahama made a difference by coming back for the presidential seat.
