Sista Afia Opens Up About Feeling Undervalued by Colleagues in the Music Industry

Ghanaian singer Sista Afia has expressed her frustration over the lack of support from some of her colleagues in the music industry, particularly those she considered close friends. In a candid interview, the artist revealed that despite consistently putting her own plans on hold to offer help to others, the same courtesy has not been extended to her.

Sista Afia shared that her caring and nurturing nature had often led to her being taken for granted. She emphasized that she would no longer tolerate such behavior from people who fail to reciprocate the love and support she offers them.

“I’m always there for everyone, treating the music industry like one big family. I even see us as siblings. I’ve left everything to support people, but when I need the same support, I get nothing in return,” she said.

She further added, “They know themselves. I’m the type of person who loves deeply, and some people seem to want to take advantage of that.”

The artist made it clear that she is no longer willing to allow her kindness to be exploited, explaining, “I’ve given people a lot of chances, but now I know I don’t have friends.”

Sista Afia’s sentiments come on the heels of a recent post where she expressed disappointment over the lack of promotion for her new song, “Krekete Soja.” She revealed that many of her so-called friends and colleagues had not supported the release, despite being quick to ask for her help when needed.

“I released a tune, ‘Krekete Soja,’ and most of my so-called colleagues/friends haven’t posted or shared to show their support. Yet, they’re always the first to run to me when they need something,” she said.
