Chelsea training photos show 19-year-old in action for the first time alongside Moises Caicedo

Chelsea are currently preparing for the FA Cup fourth round tie against Brighton tomorrow night, as they look to keep up their illustrious record in this competition.

The Blues will feel they could have gone at least one step further last season under Mauricio Pochettino. They were beaten by Manchester City after squandering a plethora of chances.

Enzo Maresca’s side were comfortable victors over Morecambe in the last round. The highlight of that game was a sensational long-range brace for Tosin Adarabioyo.

The centre-back is one of those who will be hoping to retain his place in the side who beat West Ham on Monday night, with rotation likely. The Chelsea Chronicle predicts Maresca will make as many as six changes.

Moises Caicedo was spotted in the training pictures on the club’s 5th Stand App, and is likely to be named in the starting side to face his former club.

However, one of the figures he was spotted alongside was certainly interesting. January signing Mathis Amougou was seen in first team training after his deadline day move to Stamford Bridge.

The £12.5m man was the only permanent addition to the first team squad in the January transfer window. There was far more attention paid to those leaving the club.

Chelsea’s plan for Mathis Amougou

Whilst Amougou will be at Chelsea to provide cover for the likes of Enzo Fernandez and Caicedo, it is not expected that he will stay for too long.

It is believed that he will move on loan to Strasbourg at the end of the season, essentially swapping places with current loanee Andrey Santos.

The Brazilian has enjoyed a stellar campaign at the BlueCo club so far, and is expected back at Stamford Bridge next season.

Chelsea believe Santos will be a key player for Maresca, and Blues fans do not have long to wait before that expectation becomes a reality.
