Media personality Kwame Gyan has issued a strong call for justice following the tragic East Legon accident, urging the state to prosecute both Bishop Salifu Amoako and his 16-year-old son, Elrad. Gyan condemned the Bishop’s failure to act, accusing him of turning a blind eye to his son’s reckless behavior, which ultimately led to the death of two young girls.

In a detailed post, Gyan made a list highlighting several key points about the incident before elaborating on them. He expressed frustration at the Bishop’s negligence, asserting that it was time for the state to intervene and bring closure to the grieving families. Gyan pointed out that Elrad, at just 16 years old, had no legal right to be driving. Yet, videos circulating online show him and his friends regularly speeding on public roads, treating them like racetracks. At the time of the accident, it is believed that Elrad was driving at an alarming speed of between 160 and 190 km/h in a residential area like East Legon, on a weekend.

Kwame Gyan further highlighted how the Bishop’s influence played a role in shaping his son’s reckless attitude. He recalled an event in the US where Bishop Amoako proudly boasted about driving cars in Ghana without number plates, with his son present. Even more concerning, the Bishop claimed that despite this illegal behavior, the police would salute him and refer to him as ‘General.’

These statements, Gyan suggests, emboldened Elrad’s behavior, making it likely that the Bishop knew his son was frequently behind the wheel, despite being underage.

While Elrad is alive and receiving top-tier medical care after the crash, the two young girls involved in the accident tragically lost their lives. Gyan underscored the heartbreak felt by the victims’ families and the gross unfairness of the situation.

Kwame Gyan ended his post with a plea for sustained public outrage until true justice is served, warning against the case being mishandled like actor Lil Win’s, where justice has remained elusive after a fatal accident.
