Students and residents of Apra in the Gomoa Central District now have access to clean water following the commissioning of a borehole at Apra SDA Basic School.
For years, the lack of a reliable water source forced students and community members to travel long distances to fetch water, affecting school attendance and daily activities. The new borehole is expected to ease this burden, improve sanitation, and enhance overall living conditions.
The project, supported by LG Electronics, forms part of broader efforts to provide essential infrastructure to underserved communities.
Speaking at the commissioning, project representatives emphasized the importance of access to clean water, describing it as fundamental to health and development.
“Access to clean water is essential for building healthier and more empowered communities,” said Hari Elluru, who was accompanied by Hassam and Larry.
School authorities and community leaders welcomed the intervention, calling it a game-changer for the area. They believe the initiative will significantly improve hygiene and reduce waterborne diseases among students and residents.
