Honourable Gifty Klenam has officially broken her silence on her decision to leave the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and join the National Democratic Congress (NDC). Speaking to the press, she revealed that after deep reflection and discussions with her family, she realized that the NDC’s vision aligns better with her current values and aspirations for Ghana.

Expressing gratitude to the NPP for the opportunity to serve as a two-term Member of Parliament and a short-lived tenure as a CEO under President Nana Akufo-Addo’s administration, Klenam explained why she felt the need to switch parties.”I strongly believe that after carefully considering all factors, the best way to achieve the Ghana we all dream of is through the National Democratic Congress. Upon reflection and extensive discussion with my family, I concluded that the NDC aligns more with my current values and vision for mother Ghana.”

She emphasized that it is time for Ghanaians who truly love their country to be bold and take decisive actions for the nation’s development. With this mindset, she joins the NDC with renewed passion, experience, and energy to contribute to the party’s growth and national progress.

Honourable Gifty Klenam expressed her appreciation to the NDC for accepting her with open arms. She revealed that she had already taken steps to be actively involved in the party, starting with securing a good governance card membership and providing political support in the recent elections.”I intend to immediately connect with the NDC grassroots, listen to their concerns, and offer my assistance. My personal office is open to all NDC patriots, the youth, and like-minded Ghanaians who seek the best for our nation,” she assured.

In an emotional moment, Klenam mentioned that her late father had always wished for her to join the NDC. “I know my father is smiling down on me today. It was his wish that I one day join the NDC, his beloved party. May he continue to rest in peace,” she said.

Ending her speech with gratitude, she thanked God, Ghana, and the NDC, pledging her unwavering commitment to her new political home.
