According to a report from Ghanaweb. Renowned Ghanaian actor, Kwaku Manu, has shared chilling details of his colleague Nana Ama McBrown’s devastating car accident, highlighting the critical role her financial resources played in her recovery.

On his YouTube show, Kwaku Manu painted a grim picture of the 2013 accident, which occurred on the George Walker Bush Highway. McBrown and her husband, Maxwell Mensah, were involved in the collision.

According to Kwaku Manu, McBrown’s account of the incident was even more harrowing than what she had publicly disclosed. He revealed that McBrown’s habit of resting her legs on the dashboard may have saved her from more severe injuries.

However, on that fateful day, McBrown had leaned forward while waiting for the traffic light. Suddenly, an oncoming vehicle slammed into theirs, causing McBrown to lose consciousness.

Kwaku Manu recounted McBrown’s words: “She wasn’t aware that her arm had been severed and was hanging. Part of her arm was cut and got stuck in the car door. She said all the bones were broken, and she was only depending on some veins.”

McBrown underwent four surgeries abroad, resulting in metal and screws being inserted into her arm. Despite these procedures, she endures persistent pain affecting her daily life and work.

Kwaku Manu emphasized the indiscriminate nature of accidents, stating, “Accidents do not care whether you’re a star or not.” He praised McBrown’s resilience and expressed gratitude for her fortunate recovery.

The incident serves as a stark reminder of the unpredictability of life and the importance of access to quality medical care. McBrown’s experience underscores the significance of financial resources in facilitating recovery from catastrophic events.
