According to Adom online News, Veteran football administrator Kofi Manu has launched a scathing critique of Ghana Football Association (GFA) President Kurt Okraku, calling into question his leadership and decision-making abilities.
Speaking on Asempa FM’s Sports Nite, Manu accused Okraku of mismanagement and a lack of transparency, particularly concerning the recent distribution of buses to football clubs.
Manu questioned the financial details surrounding the acquisition of the buses, stating, “Are we aware of the money involved in the purchase of the buses? How did he get approval to buy them?” He argued that stakeholders deserved clarity on such significant expenditures.
He also claimed that the timing of the bus presentation was a deliberate attempt to distract from the Black Stars’ poor performance in the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers. “Because the Black Stars performed abysmally, he wanted to use the presentation of the buses to suppress it, but it didn’t work,” Manu alleged.
In a pointed critique, Manu labeled Okraku’s tenure as a failure and called for his resignation. “For the first time in 20 years, you are not able to qualify for the AFCON. Who resigns first?” he questioned, adding that genuine leadership requires accountability.
Manu’s comments echo growing frustration among Ghanaian football fans and stakeholders, who feel disillusioned by the GFA’s current trajectory under Okraku’s leadership.
