The Paramount Chief of Sefwi Anhwiaso Traditional Area, Ogyeahoho Yaw Gyebi II, has been re-elected as President of the National House of Chiefs.
In an election held on Friday, November 22, he secured 42 votes, defeating Dormaahene Osagyefo Oseadeeyo Agyemang Badu II, who received 30 votes.
Buipewura Abdulai Jinapor II emerged as Vice President of the House, winning 54 out of 73 votes to surpass three other candidates.
The election proceeded as scheduled after the House resolved initial objections from some members concerning its timing through a passed motion.
After his swearing-in, Ogyeahoho Yaw Gyebi II expressed gratitude to the House and committed to preserving Ghana’s cultural heritage.
He stressed the need for unity among members and urged collaborative efforts to support peaceful national elections.
