Vice Presidential Candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, has appealed to the Yaa Naa, Mahama Abukari Gariba II, for prayers to ensure peace prevails during the upcoming elections.
During a courtesy visit to the Gbewaa Palace, Napo remarked that prayer is important due to the current high-stakes political climate, expressing concern over potential tensions as the December 7 elections approach.
Acknowledging the potential for heightened emotions, Dr. Opoku Prempeh urged the Yaa Naa to invoke blessings that would counter any negativity and foster a smooth electoral process.
He also sought special prayers for the NPP’s flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, and all NPP parliamentary candidates, asking for divine favor to help them secure victory.
In his remarks, Dr. Opoku Prempeh addressed claims that the NPP has historically been at odds with northern communities, asserting that the party has consistently delivered on its promises to the region.
With Dr. Bawumia as a prominent northern Muslim candidate, he urged the Yaa Naa to support the NPP, noting that Dr. Bawumia’s leadership represents a major milestone for northerners and Muslims across Ghana.
