Hearts of Oak head coach Aboubakar Ouattara
Hearts of Oak head coach Aboubakar Ouattara has admitted that his team was not at the level of Nations FC following their defeat on Thursday, April 3, 2025.
Hearts of Oak, who are enduring a poor run of form, lost 1-0 to Nations FC in the midweek clash at the Tuba Astroturf.
Speaking after the game, the former TP Mazembe technical director acknowledged Nations FC’s superiority.
“We lost to one of the most organized teams. We did everything right, but unfortunately, we continue to struggle with the same issue—the ability to score. We have a problem with that,” the Ivorian manager said.
“We lost, and we accept it. We accept that we didn’t do well,” Ouattara added.
Following the defeat, Hearts of Oak are now on a four-game winless run, having lost three of those matches.
They have dropped further down the table, putting their title aspirations in jeopardy. They currently sit 6th with 37 points.
