The Black Queens of Ghana have narrowly edged Senegal by 1-0 in an international friendly and will be hoping to complete double wins as they look set for another clash soon.
Coach Kim Lars named a strong starting line up that comprised of goalkeeper Cynthia Findib Konlan, captain Portia Boakye, Jennifer Cudjoe, Evelyn Badu, Doris Boaduwaa, coming in with nothing but a winning mindset.
The Black Queens were the dominant side in the first half and opened the scoring account in the 24th minute through Evelyn Badu who headed at a close range from Princess Marfo’s cross.
In the second half, the Teranga Lioness bounced back stronger and made series of goal incursions in search of the leveller.
The Senegalese with an attempt in the 71st minute but the strong hit from outside the box was well covered by goalkeeper Cynthia Findib Konlan.
This is definitely a perfect test for coach Kim Lars Björkegren and his girls as they continue to train harder ahead of the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations.
It finished 0-1 for Ghana at the Stade Lat-Dior. Both teams will face off again on Tuesday, April 8, at the same venue.
