A female student of Adventist Senior High School in Kumasi has sustained serious gunshot wounds after being shot in the head by a classmate on Friday, April 4.
The victim was quickly rushed to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital following an initial referral from Kwadaso SDA Hospital.
The suspect, also a student in the same class, was apprehended by the Suame District Police.
According to information gathered by Citi News, the incident occurred after the morning lesson, when the suspect reportedly displayed a pistol in the classroom.
When some students expressed doubts about the gun’s authenticity, the suspect fired the weapon, injuring his colleague in the process.
Authorities are continuing their investigation into the incident, while the victim remains in critical condition at the hospital.
