The Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture, Ablah Dzifa Gomashie, has proposed engaging in discussions with Kempinski Hotel Gold Coast City Accra to establish a world-class culinary school aimed at training professionals in the hospitality and tourism industry.

According to her, there is a need to foster excellence in the hospitality industry to enhance the country’s tourism offerings and create employment opportunities for local professionals.

Speaking at the 10th anniversary media launch of Kempinski Hotel on April 3, 2025, Dzifa Gomashie said such an institution would not only improve skills but also promote Ghana’s rich culinary heritage to an international audience.

“I’m surprised Kempinski hasn’t offered to build an ultra-modern culinary school to train industry professionals. Kempinski, the ministry has the land; talk to me. Let’s move the discussion forward. My ministry is ready to support you in any way,” she stated.

For his part, the President of the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA), Kwabena Dwumfour, expressed his appreciation for the role Kempinski Hotel has played in boosting Ghana’s tourism and trade sectors.

He commended the enduring partnership between the GJA and Kempinski Hotel, which has lasted for over eight years.

As part of measures to fully commemorate its 10th anniversary, Kempinski Hotel has unveiled a series of initiatives designed to enhance its culinary and bar offerings in line with the latest industry trends.

The General Manager of the hotel, Hanno Barkhoff, said the hotel is introducing a new gourmet and bar experience to suit the hospitality industry in Ghana.
