Daniel Owusu Koranteng, the prime suspect in the murder of investigative journalist, Ahmed Hussien-Suale, is set to appear before court on Wednesday, April 2.

His court appearance follows his recent arrest, as he faces charges related to the killing of Hussein-Suale, a journalist known for his work in helping to expose corruption in Ghana.

Ahmed Hussein-Suale, a key member of the investigative team at Tiger Eye PI, was assassinated in January 2019, at Madina, in Accra.

The shocking killing sparked national and international outrage, as Hussein-Suale had been instrumental in uncovering high-profile corruption cases.

According to law enforcement sources, Daniel Koranteng, also known as Akwasi Amakye, was allegedly near the crime scene when Hussein-Suale was ambushed and shot at close range by unknown assailants.

Beyond the murder charges, Koranteng is also accused of betraying Hussein-Suale’s whereabouts. Reports suggest that prior to the killing, he allegedly made the photographs of Ahmed available to a politician believed to have links to the crime.

The case has reignited demands for justice and press freedom in Ghana, as authorities push forward with legal proceedings against the suspect.
