The host of the popular show For The Records, Okatakyie Afrifa, has shared full details about the health condition of Vice President Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang. He has revealed what happened when Jane Naana was taken to the University of Ghana Medical Center (UGMC)
Speaking live on Facebook on Tuesday, April 1, 2025, he revealed that the Vice President had been seriously ill before the government officially announced her sickness on Friday, March 28, 2025.
According to Okatakyie Afrifa, the government delayed in informing the public about her condition. He claimed that Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang was already in a critical state before the announcement was made. He alleged that the government only decided to release a statement when her condition worsened. He said that Jane Naana was rushed to the University of Ghana Medical Center and it was discovered over there that she has some mild stroke in her body. He said that when the doctors realized this illness, they urged the government to send her outside the country.
Afrifa further disclosed that the Vice President has been flown to the United Kingdom for further medical treatment. He stated that her current health status required urgent care, leading to her transfer to a hospital outside Ghana.
The political commentator also noted that many members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) have remained silent about Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang’s illness. He suggested that their silence might be due to past criticisms of former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia when he also traveled outside Ghana for medical treatment.
Despite his critical stance on the situation, Okatakyie Afrifa wished the Vice President a speedy recovery. He expressed hope that she would regain her strength soon and return to Ghana to continue her duties.
As of now, the Ghanaian government has not provided any further updates on the Vice President’s health condition or her expected return date. However, many Ghanaians continue to send their well-wishes and prayers for her recovery.
