President John Dramani Mahama urged the residents of Bawku in the Upper East Region to embrace peace as they celebrate Ramadan.

He emphasized that this holy month is a time for unity and reconciliation.

Addressing the ongoing tensions in Bawku, the President appealed to all factions to set aside their differences and work together toward lasting peace.

“Finally, as we celebrate this Ramadan, I want to urge my brothers and sisters in Bawku to give peace a chance. Ramadan is a period for togetherness,” he stated.

Present at this year’s festival were several dignitaries, including the President of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama; the Minister for Local Government, Chieftaincy, and Religious Affairs, Hon. Ahmed Ibrahim; the Minister for Labour, Hon. Abdul-Rashid Pelpuo; the Greater Accra Regional Minister, Linda Obenewaa Akweley Ocloo; the Deputy Minister for Local Government, Chieftaincy, and Religious Affairs, Rita Odoley Sowah; and ACP flagbearer, Dr. Hassan Ayariga, among others.
