Following his impressive display, the 36-year-old forward addressed speculation regarding his longevity, insisting that his performance levels remain as high as ever. “A lot of people mention my age, but I feel fantastic physically,” Lewandowski stated in a post-match interview with DAZN. “Looking at the data, there’s no difference between now and a few years ago. I know I’m working as hard as ever and I want to play at the highest level for a few more years.”

While Lewandowski acknowledged his ongoing battle with Mbappe for the Pichichi Trophy, he emphasised that his primary concern is Barcelona’s success rather than personal achievements. “The most important thing is to do well with the team,” he added. “For me, as a striker, the most important thing is confidence. If I’m in or near the box, I know that if the ball reaches me, the goal is in my mind. But the most important thing is what I contribute collectively to the team. I know that if I score two goals, I will have helped the team because the important thing is to win.”

He is currently three short of that milestone and will push to achieve it as quickly as possible. “Reaching 100 goals for Barcelona is one of the goals for the season,” he admitted. “It’s a dream for me. We still have lots of games to play and we want to be in the Copa del Rey and Champions League finals, and win La Liga.”
