Family, friends and members of the opposition New Patriotic Party have attended the 81st birthday lunch of former President Nana Akufo Addo.
Former President Nana Akufo Addo was 81 years old, yesterday, March 29.
Many Ghanaians, including Dr Mahamadu Bawumia and Madam Rebecca Akufo-Addo, took to their social media platforms to wish him a happy birthday.
Ordinary Ghanaians also used both traditional and social media platforms to wish the former president a happy birthday.
There was a launch at the residence of the former president to climax the day.
In a post shared by Gabby Otchere-Darko, some leading members of the New Patriotic Party were there to grace the occasion.
Leading members of the party, including Dr Mahamadu Bawumia and Alexander Afenyo-Markin, were at the launch.
“Today was a relaxing afternoon of thanks and praise at Nima, where many family and friends, including Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, Hon.Alexander Kwamenaa Afenyo-Markin, Francis Asenso-Boakye MP, Nana Adjoa Hackman Otchere-Darko, Abu Jinapor, Kow Essuman, Samira Bawumia and Nana Asante Bediatuo joined Auntie Rebecca Akufo-Addo and our boss Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo at home for his 81st birthday lunch,” Gabby Otchere-Darko posted.
Nana Akufo Addo was the President of the country from 2017 to 2025. He eventually won the 2016 general elections after his third.
He became the fifth president of the Fourth Republic Democratic Dispensation. He is credited with the Free Senior High School policy, One District One Factory, among others.
He peacefully handed over power to President John Dramani Mahama after he ended his second term as President.
