The Member of Parliament for Kade, Alexander Agyare, has raised concerns about the 2025 budget, questioning the government’s spending priorities.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with GhanaWeb’s George Ayisu, he stressed the need for a thorough scrutiny of the budget statement to understand its full implications.

*”All I want Ghanaians to know is that GH¢2.7 billion has been allocated to government machinery in the 2025 budget, whereas our colleagues fought us over GH¢320 million.

“It’s up to them to explain it to Ghanaians because Ghanaians didn’t vote for them to allocate the monies to themselves. Look at the nature of our roads—they are very bad,”* he stated.

According to him, a deeper analysis of the budget would reveal new taxes.

“The COVID levy has been taken out. Yes, it was good, but other new taxes have been introduced that people didn’t pay attention to because the most familiar and popular ones were taken out,” he noted.
